Christopher Hastings

To my Church family,

I am writing this on the evening of the day that a family has been given the news that their beloved son will die within the week. This family does not have a personal relationship with Christ. To this day the group that has rallied around them and supported them the most is an amazingly generous Biker gang. This saddens me to know that despite their need for a church, not one in the valley has stepped up to the plate to help them in their time of need.

I know our church family is small and so many of us are struggling with our own needs right now
but I would challenge each and every one of you to tell me what is harder than watching your baby battle for his life? I love our church and I love the people and know the blessing of being a part of the Gathering. I have watched us support one another in times of need and step up when our building was at stake.

My prayer is that tonight, tomorrow and throughout this week you would pray for The Hastings and
consider a gift for them.  They will soon have the burden of funeral costs and I can tell you all from my own experience, that is the last thing you want to worry about when a loved one passes.  They will need meals that are healthy and easy, food is an afterthought when you are grieving.  They have dogs that may need some checking on or feeding. They may need a place to hold a service.  I am sure there are many things I have not thought of that you may think of.

Please consider what you can give and above all pray. I still believe in miracles I know that our God heals. Pray that they would hear God calling them to Him. Pray that through us they may find truth and peace and rest and support. Thank you for taking the time to read this and pray

Love,
Alicia Bettger
